@Mail Webmail for Windows Installation and Configuration Guide

1. Installing @Mail for Windows

To install @Mail on your server:

  • Download and run the atmailserver-win.msi or atmailclient-win.msi [*The "Windows Installer" service must be started].

  • You will be prompted to confirm the installation directory, which is by default C:\atmail\

  • After all files have been copied, the installer will start the new @Mail-related services.

  • Installation is complete. You will now be prompted to click 'Finish' in the installation wizard. Upon clicking 'Finish', @Mail will open a browser window to:

Follow the instructions on this page to register @Mail.

*Note that the webserver runs on port 8000 by default. This is so that @Mail will not conflict with existing web services such as IIS which are typically running on port 80. You can modify @Mail to run on port 80 by modifying the 'listen' directive in the apache httpd.conf file. Please reference the following Knowledge Base article for instructions: http://kb.atmail.com/view_article.php?num=443

  • After registration, you will be redirected to the @Mail WebAdmin panel, where you can modify the global settings for @Mail, view statistics, add/delete/modify user accounts, and perform other administrative tasks.

  • **It is recommended that you immediately set the WebAdmin password:
  • Click the 'Security' button on the top navigation bar.
  • In the navigation pane on the left, click 'Admin Password'

  • To test the functionality of the new @Mail installation:
  • Click the 'Maintenance' button on the top navigation bar.
  • In the navigation pane on the left, click 'Server Diagnostics'

  • If the diagnostic utility reports less than 100% functionality, please email support@calacode.com and include the output.

    2. @Mail for Windows Configuration

    2.1 SMTP Configuration:

When you start the @Mail SMTP server it will bind a socket to Port 25 for all IPs currently in use. If the @Mail SMTP service fails to start, it is probably because you are running another SMTP service on Port 25. To enable @Mail's SMTP service, you will have to disable any other SMTP servers.
